Derogatory post on Kangana Ranaut: NCW letter to Election Commission against Congress Supriya Sreenathe
National Commission for Women (NCW) will write to the Election Commission of India over Supriya Shrinate's derogatory post on Kangana Ranaut.
The National Commission for Women has written to the Election Commission demanding strict action against Congress leaders Supriya Shrinate and H.S.Ahir for their derogatory comments against actress Kangana Ranaut, who is the BJP candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat.
BJP demands immediate dismissal of Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate.
The BJP on Tuesday stepped up its attack on the Congress over a post made from the Instagram handle of Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate against actor Kangana Ranaut, who will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on the saffron party's ticket from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, the latter's home state.
Kangana Ranaut says "Shame on congress, it's leaders are insulting women as well as Himachal's Mandi".
“Can someone tell what is the current rate in Mandi (market)?” the post read. It was made next to a picture of Ranaut. Shrinate later clarified that ‘many people’ have access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts, and someone from there made the ‘extremely inappropriate’ post, which has since been deleted.
